Charlie Kirk, founder and CEO of Turning Point USA and one of the most prominent conservative voices of his generation, has died after a tragic shooting on the campus of Utah Valley University. He was 31 years old.
The incident occurred on September 10, 2025, while Kirk was participating in his “American Comeback Tour.” Witnesses reported that he was engaging students at his well-known “Prove Me Wrong” table when gunfire erupted. He was struck in the neck or head and rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors were unable to save him.
Authorities quickly labeled the attack a possible political assassination. A person of interest has been taken into custody, and the FBI is leading the investigation.
News of Kirk’s death sent shockwaves across political and cultural circles. Former President Donald Trump and other major Republican leaders paid tribute, calling him a “patriot who gave everything for America’s future.”
Kirk founded Turning Point USA in 2012 at just 18 years old, building it into one of the most influential conservative student organizations in the country. He was known for his fiery speeches, prolific social media presence, and commitment to mobilizing young voters.
His death marks a devastating loss for the conservative movement and leaves many of his supporters mourning a leader they considered fearless and uncompromising.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
